Do you have any vacancies at the moment?
Yes, I have part time vacancies available.
What do you do all day?
We follow a daily routine for meal times, nursery, sleep times and school drop off and pick up times. Most mornings we visit Plean Country Park to walk Poppy and have fun and adventures.
Afternoons are spent playing outdoors in the garden or making use of the resources indoors. Sometimes we visit play parks, soft play centres, visit friends or do errands in town
Do you provide meals and snacks?
I will provide drinks, snacks and lunch. I can cater for any special dietary requirements.
Drinks – water is available all day and milk is offered at meal times.
Snacks – fruit, breadsticks and dip, cheese and crackers, popcorn, toast and jam, crumpets, pancakes and homemade cake.
Lunch - cheese sandwiches/toasties, homemade soup, beans or scrambled egg on toast, pizza, pasta or fish fingers.
Crisps and biscuits are an occasional treat; sweets, chocolates and fizzy drinks are reserved for special occasions and are not part of my every day provision.
What schools do you drop off/pick up from?
I have a seven seater car and will endeavor to accommodate requests for Braehead Primary, St Ninians Primary, St Mary's Primary and Park Drive Nursery.
Are you able to offer free childcare places to 3 and 4 year olds and eligible 2 year olds?
As a childminder, in a new partnership with Stirling council, I will be able to offer free childcare places to 3 and 4 year olds, as well as eligible 2 year olds. This will give families the flexible option to choose me for their free childcare, either for the entire 600 hours or as a split placement option with a nursery.
What are your opening hours and holidays?
I am open from 8am to 5.30 pm, Monday to Friday although can be flexible if required.
I take six weeks holiday annually; they fall during the school holidays and remain the same every year- two weeks at Christmas, the second week at Easter, the last two weeks of July and the October holiday.
What happens on occasions of illness or unexpected days off?
If you have booked a place with me and don't use it the full fee applies, alternatively, if you book a place and I can't provide it then no fee applies.
Should you wish to terminate your contract at any time, four weeks written notice is required or a month's fees in lieu of notice.
What about settling in?
I encourage several visits before a childcare arrangement starts; this enables the child to become accustomed to my house, routines and equipment and allows them to get to know me and the other children in my care; some children might find it easier to settle with me if I have been invited to your house.
We will have a full day “dry run” before the childcare arrangement starts proper allowing us to get timings right and iron out any unforeseen problems.
What paperwork is required?
All details of fees, holidays, and personal details are recorded in a mutually agreed contract. We will also fill out a child information sheet which helps me to get to know you and your child along with permission slips to ensure your child's safety.
On signing contracts parents will receive a copy of my terms and conditions along with a folder of my policies and procedures which give full and detailed information on how I run my service
How do you promote positive behaviour?
I encourage children to respect the feelings and property of others. I set simple rules and my expectations of behaviour are clear and consistent.
Do you have any pets?
I have a cocker spaniel called Poppy. She brings many benefits to the children; they learn to appreciate and respect all living things; she loves a cuddle bringing to the child a feeling of comfort and affection and together they enjoy lots of physical activity and fresh air on our walks every day.
Do you have any computer games?
No, I prefer old fashioned games, like jigsaws. You won't find an Xbox, laptop, Wii, Playstation or DS here!
